The tour with Kårspexet to Mariefred was pretty fun. It was a bit strange, but I enjoyed it anyways.
[Myself, Nisse, Qloffi and Aron on the square.]
[Cissi, Linnea och Jenny picnicking on the square.]I got to bed a bit later then I'd planned the night before, but I'd set three alarm clocks, so I thought I'd be safe. I wasn't! Magnus rang me three quarters of an hour after we were supposed to meet outside the union house and wondered where I was hiding. I have no memories of any of the alarms going off, except for a vague memory of birdsong.
[Nahlin and Nisse looking at veteran cars by the waterfront.]Thankfully Jeppe, who was going by car, was able to pick me up. He's an angel! I'm so glad I didn't have to take the train. It was a panicky start to the day and the adrenaline stayed with me for quite a while. I didn't really wind down until after the show was over.
[Ian took a picture of me actually working. Without a beer in my hand.]SMHI, our wonderful weather service, predicted a cold day and no rain. They were wrong! We actually had a bit of sun in the morning, but that turned into rain right about the time we were supposed to start the show. We decided to go on anyway and managed to get through it alive though a little wet and bedraggled.
[Rainy cables by the sound booth.]The really amazing thing about the day was the audience. They sat out there in the middle of the square in the rain and watched it all. Sure the audience was smaller in the last act, but they were wonderful and seemed in a pretty good mood, despite the cold and damp.
[A wet audience.]And I love all our actors for going on out on that slippery stage and keeping their spirits up through that weird situation. They did a wickedly awesome job! You guys rock!
[A dead pope, Gustaf and Caroline backstage.]
[Elin, Niclas and Sergio in action.]
The following dinner in Björnlunda was thankfully indoors in the barn. And I spent the rest of the party mainly on the barn dance floor or by the barbecue out in the parking lot.
[Niclas making sure we kept in line during dinner.]One of the positive things with the cold and rain was the lack of mosquitoes. Those small buggers usually pest us all night. But this time, for understandable reasons, they stayed far away.
[One of the tables in the barn.]
Somehow I didn't feel very tired at all and stayed up pretty late. It might have been me unconsciously fearing the cold and not looking forward to sleeping in a tent. But I don't know. It wasn't really that cold when I finally got into my sleeping bag.
Too early of a wake-up as usual and I slept for most of the trip home, but all in all a pretty nice tour. Except, of course, that my cold is back with a grudge.
